Worry and anxiety is a physical response to something that might harm you, it is your body’s way of keeping you safe. You might respond in different ways. You could go into what is known as “fight” mode when stressed, or might become angry and agitated. Or use the “flight” mode and become withdrawn and depressed. Finally, there is “freeze” and you are incapable of doing anything when stressed. Depending on how you respond to stress, it may keep you awake at night with thoughts running out of control in your head.
Fast forward to January 2016. After the sparkle of Christmas is over, are you left feeling dull because of the credit card bills flying in the New Year? It can be hard to avoid using credit to pay for the festive season but saving in the run up will help soften the blow in January.

Eliminating low confidence
It is natural for our self-confidence levels to wax and wane through the course of our lifetime but occasionally certain experiences cause our confidence levels to drop and stay low. Attending parties, giving demonstrations and work meetings are a few of the circumstances which may be affected by low self-confidence. Having low self-worth also affects confidence in a damaging way i.e. if we feel unhappy concerning the way we look.
Outward warning signs of low self-confidence include appearing shy, nervous or socially withdrawn, especially in confrontational or stressful scenarios.
In plenty of cases, the environment a person is brought up in can affect the confidence of the individual. Negative experiences, constant critical judgement and even bullying can cause low self-confidence in people, as can memories later in life.
The problem is that if self-confidence isn’t resolved quickly it can more often than not result in other mental problems like difficulty interacting with others, anxiety and depression. This is why it’s very important to seek help in a timely manner if your self-confidence is knocked for a long period of time, as negative thinking patterns can rapidly build and spiral out of control. Low self-confidence can have ramifications on large parts of our lives; it can affect things like our social life, the way we interact with relatives and friends, interviews and meetings in the office.
Thankfully, low self-confidence can usually be easily corrected in a relatively short time. Low self-confidence is on the whole caused by inappropriate patterns of behaviour about themselves. By transforming these habits and creating ideas and feelings of higher levels of self-confidence, an individual can understand the huge benefits of gaining help. Higher levels of confidence can make a significant difference to everything – from relationships with family and friends to career prospects as well as general state of mind.
Perhaps the best treatments for low self-confidence is hypnotherapy, as it deals with the underlying factors causing habitual low self-confidence. It seeks to ascertain the root reason behind the feelings of low self-confidence and low self-worth and treat it.
On the whole, your hypnotherapist would seek to change your perceptions and free you from unhelpful patterns of behaviour so that you can begin to implement new, more helpful ways of thinking. Once the underlying problems are dealt with, a large number of clients find it easier to get back to a ‘normal life’.
